If you are serious about short sales, Oscar Morante is definitely one of the people you want to know. Oscar graduated in 1990 from Virginia Tech with a degree in architecture. He is a registered architect in Oregon, Washington and Arizona. Through relationships with clients, he realized that there is more profit in real estate transactions than in designing the buildings that make them possible. With this insight Oscar decided to enter the real estate industry.

The three ingredients for success in any business are capital, knowledge and time. When Oscar got into real estate, he did not have much capital or real estate knowledge, but he had time. He invested his time in learning as much as possible in order to gain more knowledge. With knowledge and time, capital can be obtained.

Because working with large structures required much more knowledge, capital and time, Oscar looked into the single-family residential market - the market of one to four residential units within a single structure. It's a good market to get your "feet wet". That's where Oscar got into action.

Oscar is like all real estate investors. He likes independence and financial freedom and works hard for it. He invests significantly in his real estate career and puts his acquired knowledge into action.. He is extremely grateful for all the support his wife Mishelle has provided. He also considers himself lucky to be in real estate, a business where there is plenty to go around, lots of good will and excellent people to do business with.

Oscar's most important advice for succeeding in real estate and life is to be relentless and true to yourself. Do what you believe in, the way you want it, and don't give up. He recognizes that what works for some people does not work for others. He also understands that some things work and others don't. It's pointless to remain in unfruitful pursuits. Either change the approach, or find something else. Be relentless, but be willing to change. Do what works for you. Because we are all unique individuals, we need to do what is unique to our character. When you do that, you are congruent with yourself and it is that congruency that creates the energy and drive needed to be relentless.

No doubt, short sales are among the most thrilling types of real estate transactions that exist. Not only that, short sales are one of the few fields of real estate in which someone can come into a transaction as a principal, with no cash, and come out with a profit. This requires knowledge and the ability to negotiate. Every real estate agent, mortgage broker and investor should be competent in this. This is where Oscar can help you.
